Literature Text

"Don't you have any shame?"
"No... no, I suppose I don't."

Buttoned up to the cuffs
while she struts her stuff.
Hair tight in a bun
while she wears it undone.

To be a woman.
What is this?

"Flaunting what you should!"
"Reserving your goods..."
A tug of war
between 'frigid' and 'whore'.
What's right?
What's wrong?
Clean whites
or a thong?

To be a woman.
What is this?
A conceptual poem.

It seems we have two types of women. Which one is right? Some jump on their moral high-horse whilst others are... what, just confident, are they just promiscuous? Of course, I have my own opinions but I wanted to take a back seat and just present this debate, I guess. After all, in a perfect world I guess clothes wouldn't even be necessary, but in a world with paedophiles and rapists, it's just not possible. So where do we draw the line? I just find the whole concept and debate quite interesting.
